Bears are everywhere!
When you stay at Legends Lookout you will most definitely see some of our bear friends. Whether its one of the teens that we have aptly named Trouble, Bother and Scuffy, Mama Sue or the two cubs Fuzz and Buzz.
The Smoky Mountains is home to 1,500 - 1,900 black bears, one of the healthiest black bear communities in the US. One thing to note, while we love looking at the bears, please stay away. They are not friendly and should not be fed. Human interaction causes them to get tagged by wildlife officials and eventually put down. Let's save the bear population!
